5 Important Questions to Ask your Wedding Photographer before Booking

No, wait! before dialing the number of your decided photographer, check out these 5 important questions you need to ask your wedding photographer.

Hey, be honest,

You were getting confused. About what to ask your wedding photographer before giving him the final booking. Isn’t it!

Yes, it happens, But Don’t Worry!

Today we are here with 5 important questions to ask your wedding photographer before booking.

These questions will help you ensure that your chosen photographer is right for you or not.

So, let’s start with the first important question,

What’s your photography style?

We can define photography style with the way one tends to compose, shoot, and process photographs & videos. Basically, there are two major types of photography styles. One is Traditional, and the other one is Candid.

In both the styles, Traditional & Candid, the photographer keeps a different approach while shooting.

In Traditional Style, the photographer captures things as they are supposed to. The photographer guides you and your family members to pose or stand while clicking the shots. In Traditional photography, you are more aware when the photographer takes your Shots as compared to candid. Because in Candid, the photographer captures natural shots.

In traditional, you get your photo clicked in your favorite pose. But in Candid, the photographer will capture the real emotions, like he captures your dance moments, smile, and even tears, but without notifying you.

And that’s why candid shots are appreciated more when it comes to heart-fetching photography.

Here’s a comparison between the Traditional shot and the Candid shot below. It’ll give you a clearer understanding.

And now when you know the difference,

You can decide what photography style suits you better and make sure your photographer is providing the same.

Now comes the next question.

How many weddings you’ve covered till now, and is there any similar to mine?

Yes, your brain has already hinted to you about the importance of this question a little bit. Right!

Yes, You are right! This question will tell you that how much experience your photographer has under his belt. And, when you’ll ask him about a wedding similar to you. He’ll show you his work that is similar to your expectations. And never know, maybe he covered your venue with the same theme already. You’ll get new ideas that you can implement at your wedding. And now you can visualize the final outcome.

And now comes the question of even more significance.

How many other events you’re going to cover that day?

Yes, this question also carries a large amount of significance if the quality matters to you a lot. And obviously, it matters. After all, it’s your BIG DAY. Right! And it happens once in a lifetime (well, exceptions are always there), but mostly it happens once.

Hehe!

Ok! Now coming back to the topic,

Well, Large professional photographers (like Studio Memory Lane) book even 2-3 weddings a day sometimes. Even they are having a team of master photographers and managing team. But on the other side, small photographers book 2-3 weddings in a single day without having proper resources.

So imagine a single photographer covering your event along with 1-2 functions on the same day. And the concern is that it can make your work suffer. So make sure that your photographer is having proper resources or limited functions on your lucky day.

Now some questions that people ignore but matters a lot.

Do you provide a contract for the services?

Many studios do not give any contract or form for the services they provide. But it’s critical for the safety of both the clients and photographer. The commitment should always be on the paper. So that later on, there should be no disputes after the event, when it’s too late. So try to get all the promises done by you and your photographer on paper. And don’t forget to get a copy from them.

Believe, It matters.

How much time it’ll take to make the work-ready?

Every studio is not having the same resources and working style. And that’s why there’s a difference in the time they take to deliver the work post-production. But mostly, it ranges between 2 weeks – 8 weeks. And if anybody is promising delivery the next day or even week. There you should be a little careful. Check if they’re compromising on anything like color correction or anything in the post-production process.

And even if somebody asks you to wait for too long. For example, if some photographer asks you to wait for 6 months and say they’ll give personalize touch, do this & that. It’s going to kill your & your dear ones’ excitement. Nothing else!

We here at Studio Memory Lane have a 30-day work-ready policy. And, we have a big super passionate team of experts to meet our goals without any quality compromise. It’s just to take our services to the next level.

So, it’s not bad if someone is making your work ready on time but take care if it’s too early or too late.

And try getting your work-ready time included in your contract also. It’ll be even better.

Ok!

So it’s time to say Goodbye!

Best of Luck!
