So Ready?

Let’s Start!

Now, if you want to make a wise decision, you need to understand thoroughly, What Candid and Traditional Photography is?

So let’s first know about Candid Photography.

Candid Photography

Candid is a photography type in which the photographer captures the exact mood and real emotions of the ongoing moment.

Well, everyone keeps a desire to hold the most beautiful moments of their big day. And Candid photography transforms the desire into reality. A candid photographer keeps his artistic eye on every single moment at the wedding. The photographer is always ready with his finger on the camera trigger, where he finds any worth cherishable moment he captures immediately and even without letting you know. Otherwise, it’ll ruin the natural feel of the moment, and it will be no more a real candid shot. A real Candid shot means completely natural. A god-gifted moment not artificially created.

See if you just want to learn one word you can relate to Candid photography in your mind,

It’s “natural” That’s it!

It’s all about the natural flow of emotions & moments.

When you’re enjoying your moment, the photographer’s job is on. You’ll find that most of the candid shots are not camera-facing, and the reason is that the photographer captures it from a long distance to get the natural essence of the moment.

Yes, if the photographer captures from a closer distance to you, then you’ll get aware of the shot, and it’ll ruin the natural expressions.

And this is the reason high-end camera equipment is required in Candid Photography.

Low-light cameras and better zoom lenses are required to get a perfect Candid shot.

Now comes Traditional Photography, you know it!

Traditional Photography

Traditional photography is that old-style photography you know very well. Remind of that scene in the weddings you attended, when you were standing behind the couple’s sofa, and the photographer was telling you to stand a little right or left. Then he asked you to smile a bit and clicked the shot and that was a traditional one.

In traditional photography, the photographer guides you, or you give your favourite poses while shooting. There, you are very well aware of your shot. And that’s the reason you’ll find that most of the shots in traditional photography are camera-facing, unlike in candid.

Mobile Selfie is also an example of Traditional photography.

And in Traditional, there’s no such requirement of any specific type of equipment. A standard camera is sufficient for it.

So if it’s clear that What is Candid, and what’s Traditional photography?

Let’s differentiate them now!

Where the difference lies?

Approach

In Traditional, the Photographer shoots with an approach to cover the whole event.

In Candid, Photographer shoots with the approach to capture emotions.

Final Output

In Candid, max. shots will be noncamera facing but with natural expressions.

In Traditional, shots will be camera facing but with a mannered smile.

Equipment

In Candid, Zoom lenses & low light cameras with powerful speed lights are required.

In Traditional, there’s no such requirement of any special equipment. It just requires the standard equipment used in general.

Conclusion

Well, everything depends on your requirement. If you want all the natural expressions to be stored in your wedding treasure and want everything in short, then Candid is the option. And if you want your complete wedding to be covered and are interested in watching long-duration wedding film, then traditional is there for you.

But the best will be to choose a mixed package that comprises both of them. Because if you want your picture with all your family, friends & relatives, it’s not possible in Candid. And Traditional can’t offer you the natural shots illustrating the exact emotions of the moment as it is. But if you combine both of them, all your requirements get fulfilled. So be wise!
