How to handle camera properly? – 5 basic tips!

The camera is one of the most important pieces of equipment when it comes to the field of photography. Whether it is a beginner or professional photographer, all of you must be curious to know about the basic tips to handle your camera while shooting. Therefore, here we, Studio Memory Lane – the best professional wedding photographers in Punjab and Chandigarh, are here with our blog on how to handle camera properly with 5 basic tips.

Undoubtedly, with the change in time and technology, the introduction of DSLR cameras has facilitated in learning new skills and techniques related to capturing various types of shots. However, before that, it is advisable to understand the basic handling ways that will help you in getting your desired shots.

By not taking much time, let us have a look at these tips:

Tuck your arms while standing

This is one of the most important tips in the blog for how to handle the camera properly, as we are suggesting you handle the camera in such a way that your elbows must be anchored to the center of your gravity. This is so because it will help your left hand to hold the lens from the side while providing support to the camera as well. Moreover, in starting you might find it awkward, but later on, you will realize that it helps avoid shake of hand while shooting with slow shutter speed.

Brace against a stable object

If you are using slow shutter speed and find that your posture is causing shake in your shots, then make sure you find a wall or stable object to support your body.

How to handle the camera properly? – Brace your camera to arm!

In case you won’t able to get a stabilize wall, then one more tip can be used to get a more stabilize posture. Here, we, Studio Memory Lane, advise you to bring your left arm around the right arm and hold it tight with your right shoulder. After this, place your camera on your upper part of the left arm, this is where you are holding a camera in a stabilizing way.

Place your feet – flat

It is the most common mistake that a photographer does while shooting is that you get the ball on your feet. This will ultimately transfer the motion to your camera and you might not get what you desire. So, Studio Memory Lane, suggests you plant your feet in such a way that you get flat-footed. This will ensure that no moment can take place while shooting.

Must sit with elbows on your knees

Generally, it is very common to shoot while sitting down to get the wide-angle or shots with great height, but beginners or photographers sometimes sit while their legs out or legs crossed. This will provide minimal support to your body. So, the best tip among how to handle the camera properly is that while sitting on the ground you must make your knees propped up. Now, all you have to do is place your knees on each side as a brace and you might probably look like a human tripod as well. This will provide more balance and proper finishing while shooting.
